The Cream and Fudge Factory

If you like ice cream, this one’s for you. The Cream and Fudge Factory, situated below the Donut Baker outlet on 80 ft. Road in Koramangala looks like just another small, unpretentious “ice-cream parlor.” Until you step inside, take one look at the menu, and realize that ordering your ice cream isn’t going to be that simple after all.

Here’s how it works: first, you choose from 14 flavours of Classique or Royale ice cream, deciding whether you want one, two, or (heaven forbid) three scoops. Then, you decide what you want “mixed in” to your ice cream – the huge (and, you could argue, somewhat bizarre) array of choices here include Oreos, Granola bars, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, apple or cherry pie filling, Mars bars, roasted pecans, hazelnuts, KitKat bars, gummy bears, sponge cake, peanut butter, and many, many more. The ice cream is then laid out on a frozen slab, and the “mix-ins” are deftly folded into it with steel spatulas. Now you have, for example, peanut butter ice cream with KitKat and chocolate chips distributed evenly through it.

Now all you have to do is decide whether you want your creation to be served in a waffle cone or a waffle “bowl”, and whether you want it to be chocolate-dipped, or plain, or sprinkled with nuts or rainbow sprinkles. Last decision: topping. Thankfully only two choices here, chocolate fudge or caramel fudge.

Too intimidating or complicated for you? Opt for one of the Cream and Fudge Factory’s own creations, priced at Rs. 88 and Rs. 120. My favorites are Apple Crumble Pie and Oreo Cream and Fudge. Much quicker and more economical – but less fun. If you’re not in the mood for an ice cream, grab a milkshake, priced between Rs.95 and Rs.155.

Prices start at Rs.50 for one scoop of Classique ice cream with one mix-in, and go up to Rs.225 for three scoops of Royale ice cream with three mix-ins. Toppings are Rs. 20 each.
